The Ukrainian Basketball Federation (UFB) announced the disqualification of the coach and player for life for their refusal to return to Ukraine. This decision became a high-profile event in the world of Ukrainian sports and aroused considerable interest among fans and sports officials.
It is about the coach of the national team and Cherkasy Monkeys Artem Slipenchuk, as well as the player of the youth team and BC Zaporizhzhia Artem Pokoenko.
Slipenchuk and Pokoyenko did not return to Ukraine on time after the summer training sessions.
After that, Artem Slipenchuk was excluded from the national team of Ukraine and suspended from any activity related to basketball in the country. Artem Pokoyenko also received a lifetime disqualification.
