OSINT researchers Molfar and animal rights activists UAnimals established that the Ukrainian network of dolphinariums "Nemo" probably has ties to Russia, operates in Crimea and involves former deputies of "United Russia". This information was revealed in an investigation published on the Molfar web portal.
The network of dolphinariums "Nemo" provides a franchise for the creation of such facilities all over the world. The first dolphinarium "Nemo" was started in Odesa in 2005 with the support of the Sevastopol "Biological Station" PE, which financed the construction and leased the marine animals. "Nerum" LLC leased a dolphinarium with animals and later appropriated it together with the building and land. It is "Nerum" LLC that points to the connections of the Ukrainian network "Nemo" with Russian branches.
There are dolphinariums in the Russian cities of Anapa, Dzhubza, and Golubytskyi, which probably cooperate with the Ukrainian Nemo network through two Russian legal entities: LLC "Chudne More" and LLC "Ecological Center". According to the investigators, the founders of the last company are citizens of Ukraine, who are also co-founders of Odesa LLC Nerum. In 2022, the "Ecological Center" paid taxes in Russia in the amount of 500,000 rubles, and losses amounted to 13.7 million rubles.
