In the context of recent scandals in the country, the Ukrainian parliament is considering the possibility of transforming the Territorial Coordination Centers into a civilian structure. The head of the parliamentary committee on national security, defense and intelligence Oleksandr Zavitnevich confirmed the existence of such an idea.
At the same time, rumors appeared in the Ukrainian information space that in the case of reforming the TCC into civilian structures, the workers carrying out the mobilization will act on the streets in civilian clothes, which may make it difficult to visually identify them among the civilian population.
Oleksandr Zavitnevich's assistant noted that the chairman of the committee did not announce a change in the uniform of TCC employees.
We would like to remind you that according to the order of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine No. 606 of November 20, 2017, the right to wear military uniforms is for servicemen who are conscripted during military service, reservists, cadets and high school students, as well as persons released from military service in reserve or in resignation with the right to wear a military uniform at the time of dismissal.
Military expert Oleksiy Hetman expressed his belief that the transformation of the TCC into a civilian structure will not bring significant benefits to the state.
"If the TCC becomes a civilian structure, it can be worse, because the military is the first chain for joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine. If they become civilians, serious doubts will arise as to who they will be subordinate to," said Hetman.
For his part, the former spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and military analyst Vladyslav Seleznyov emphasized that the main task is to ensure the effective operation of the system that carries out mobilization.
