The defense forces are fighting the aggressive actions of the Russian invaders in several directions in the eastern part of Ukraine. Fighting continues in the Robotyny region, in the Avdiiv region and in the vicinity of Novomykhailivka. The activity of enemy forces on the left bank of the Kherson region, where AASM Hammer bombs provided by France were used to attack enemy positions, is also noted.
In the Luhansk region on March 5, positional battles continued in several districts, but no changes in the front line were recorded. A similar situation took place in the Donetsk region, where active hostilities are also ongoing. Russian troops tried to seize some positions, but Ukrainian forces managed to resist them.
Ukrainian forces are active in various areas, using a variety of defense strategies, including natural terrain and water obstacles. Information is also provided about successful counterattacks by Ukrainian forces near Robotyny. It is worth noting that the Russian military may have problems with electronic warfare and the use of drones.
Fighting also continues in the western part of the Zaporizhzhia region, but no concrete changes have been recorded in the front line. Both sides of the conflict claim displacement and clashes in the vicinity of Robotyny, which indicates continued tensions in the region.
On March 5, limited positional combat operations continued on the eastern (left) bank of the Kherson region. According to the information of the Russian "military personnel", the Russian troops attacked small groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the cottage near the Antonivsky Bridge. It was also noted that Ukrainian forces can strengthen their group in this direction.
Russian sources reported a strike from an armed forces drone on a substation in occupied Kakhovka, as well as the first use by Ukrainian forces of AASM Hammer glide bombs, provided by France, against Russian positions in the village of Kozachi Lageri. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces also reported 76 combat engagements during the day, while the Defense Forces continued to hold positions on the left bank of the Dnieper and repulse Russian attacks in the Pervomaisk district, Donetsk region.
Also, on the night of March 2, the Russian occupiers launched an attack on Odesa and the region with the help of Shahed kamikaze drones, which resulted in the death of 12 people, including children. In this regard, the Ukrainian defenders responded with an aerial bomb attack on the occupiers' facility in the Kherson region. The inscription “For the children of Odesa. With hatred and without respect."
As for Hammer aerial bombs, France supplies Ukraine with two types of such bombs: Hammer 250 and Hammer 1000. They are equipped with INS, GPS, GPS Laser or GPS IR guidance systems, which increases their range and accuracy. Also, Ukrainian MiG-29 and Su-24M aircraft have been upgraded so that they can use these aerial bombs that Paris will supply to Kyiv.
