The commander of the Achilles Unmanned Systems Regiment Yuriy Fedorenko stated that Ukraine was able to create almost a powerful industry for the production of shock drones that can affect objects in the deep rear of the enemy. At the same time, according to him, Russia still has an advantage in the rate of production and technical characteristics of UAVs.
In an interview with UNIAN Fedorenko, he explained that the current breakthrough of Ukraine in the field of drones was made possible by uniting the efforts of the state, volunteers and private companies. However, this does not abolish the fact that the Russian Federation has significantly scaled the production of "Shahamed" - serial barrading ammunition and their analogues.
"They have" Shahda ", they have modernized them, increased production at times. They now have a bar - to 500 drones a day. They changed the structure, strengthened protection against RBs, raised the height of flight to 2 km, which complicates the work of our mobile groups," he explained.
Nevertheless, the Ukrainian side is already developing new technologies-in particular, the drones-interceptors, which in the future should counteract the modernized "Shahhedam".
"We are working on jet interceptors. But honestly, we do it today for the day before. We need to speed up," Fedorenko said.
He stressed that a real breakthrough requires large -scale funding, which should not only come from the state. In his opinion, the support of the production of drones is already a matter of every citizen.
"If every Ukrainian at least once a month helps one initiative in the field of UAV, it will give a systematic result. Because the war of drones is no longer the future, but the present," the commander said.
