Ukrainian and Western analysts warn that if US President Donald Trump finally stopped in Kiev's military assistance, the war will become much more difficult. Particularly noticeable will be the loss of American intelligence and satellite system Starlink, without which modern war is impossible.
Despite the potential loss of US support, Ukrainian military and experts believe that the army will be able to keep defense for at least half a year. However, this is possible only if Europe will be able to compensate for the loss of weapons. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Policy Alexander Merezhko is convinced that the Russian army is also exhausted and will not be able to quickly move even in the absence of American weapons. The worst scenario - the Russian Federation will be able to capture a little more.
Ukraine's biggest problem today is not a shortage of weapons, but a lack of mobilization resource. Western officials claim that the Armed Forces seek to attract up to 30,000 new soldiers a month, but more and more Ukrainians are avoiding mobilization. People's Deputy Yulia Klimenko believes that a decrease in the conscript age will only worsen the situation, as young men will travel abroad massively.
Klimenko emphasizes that the government should mobilize older men and improve military training. “People are afraid that they will be sent to the front without training and without weapons. They do not want to be cannon meat, ”she notes.
Despite the difficulty, Ukraine has a chance to keep defense at the expense of the latest technologies. Mustafa Nayem believes that drones and robotic systems can compensate for the lack of artillery and armored vehicles. He emphasizes that the priority should not be the supply of HIMARS, but the financing of production of 10,000 drones on a monthly basis.
The Ukrainian industry has already made a significant jerk in this area. TAF Drones CEO Alexander Yakovenko predicts that 2.5-3 million drones will be produced in 2025. At the same time, he admits that the Russians are rapidly adapting to new technologies, and now there is a minimum technological gap between the parties to the war.
Western military experts warn that even if Trump does not block Ukraine's support, Europe will not be able to quickly compensate for weapons. NATO arms reserves are significantly exhausted and production rates remain insufficient.
European leaders are also afraid that active assistance to Kiev can cause diplomatic conflict with Trump if he really seeks to "negotiate" with Russia. Some diplomats are already suggested that the US may even openly oppose expanded military assistance to Ukraine.
Despite fatigue and difficult circumstances, Ukraine does not intend to stop the struggle. "If we give up, it will make the situation much worse," the People's Deputy Oleksandr Merezhko emphasizes. Ukraine continues to look for new ways to support the army, including an increase in its own weapons production and to intensify cooperation with European partners.
