Yegor Firsov, a former MP and military officer, has warned of a serious threat of losing five cities in eastern Ukraine – Chasovye Yar, Kurakhovo, Pokrovsk, Myrnograd, and Velyka Novoselka. According to him, not only strategic positions are at stake, but also a huge number of lives and resources spent to defend them.
“You have no idea how many drones, money, strength, sweat, and most importantly, our blood and human lives we lost defending these cities and these positions,” Firsov emphasized, commenting on the importance of these settlements for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Firsov noted that Russian troops are no longer stretching their forces along the entire front line, but are concentrating on a few key areas. This may indicate Russia's attempts to break through the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defenses and capture important cities, which would strengthen its position in the region.
The threat of losing these cities calls into question the continued stability of the front line and could have serious strategic consequences for Ukraine.
