Ukraine can strike Russia without permission - State Department

Ukraine has the right to strike deep into the territory of the Russian Federation, using its own weapons, and does not need the approval of other states for this. However, the question of using Western weapons for long-range strikes on Russia remains under consideration. This was stated by the spokesman of the US State Department, Matthew Miller.

Matthew Miller emphasized that Ukraine has every right to decide how to use its weapons for defense and counterattacks, including strikes against Russian targets. He also noted that Ukraine has been actively developing its defense programs over the past year.

"Ukraine can use its weapons to strike Russian targets on the border, from where attacks on Ukrainian territory are carried out," Miller noted.

Regarding the use of long-range Western weapons for strikes against deep-seated objects in Russia, the State Department spokesman noted that this issue is still being discussed. He added that the US continues to explore additional opportunities to provide Ukraine with the necessary tools for defense.

A decision on the possible lifting of restrictions on the use of American weapons for long-range strikes against Russia may be made after the upcoming US presidential elections.
