Despite the constant threat from Russian ballistic missiles, the US is not yet ready to transfer THAAD anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine. This system is one of the most modern in the world and is capable of destroying long-range ballistic missiles, in particular Russian Oreshnik-type missiles.
This was stated by military expert Ivan Stupak.
According to him, this complex is worth three billion dollars, one shot from it - 20 million.
"Ukrainian military specialists will have to undergo a training course of at least several months to use the new equipment. And suddenly the Russians will destroy or damage this system, as happened more than once with the Patriot air defense system? Still, 3 billion dollars is not a small amount of money, three times more than the price of the Patriot installation. I think it is easier for the Americans to stop the war in Ukraine than to hand over THAAD to us," the expert said.
Earlier, Zelenskyi said that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is already negotiating with the Americans regarding the provision of air defense equipment capable of shooting down Russian medium-range missiles.
