The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that Ukraine received two more air defense systems, which, according to him, are capable of "shooting down everything." This comes after months of intense efforts at various levels to secure the country. The president announced this in his video message.
Although Zelensky did not specify from which country these air defense systems were obtained, it was previously announced that cooperation in this direction was being discussed with Germany. In a phone conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the president discussed the issue of further strengthening the Ukrainian air defense system, in particular the IRIS-T and Patriot systems.
Although the new air defense systems do not yet provide full protection of Ukraine, Zelenskyi emphasized that work on this continues every day.
Ukraine is waging a defensive struggle against Russian aggression , which includes regular attacks by Russian forces with various types of weapons, including missiles, drones, and missile and artillery emplacements. Since the beginning of the year, in January alone, Russia has launched more than 330 missiles and approximately 600 attack drones on the territory of Ukraine, resulting in a significant number of casualties among the civilian population.
Despite the evidence and testimony, Moscow denies its involvement in shelling of civilian objects in Ukraine. Ukraine continues to fight for its independence and territorial integrity in the face of Russian aggression.
