On July 1, 2025, a new voltage standard in power grids - 230 volts instead of the current 220, will be officially entered into force in Ukraine. Changing is part of the process of harmonization of technical standards with European standards.
DTEK is emphasized that electricity payments are not for voltage, but for actual consumption in kilowatt-hours. Therefore, Ukrainians will not feel any changes in the amount of payments.
“Your accounts won't change. You pay for kilowatt-hours, not for volts, ”the company's press service explained.
In addition, changes do not pose a threat to home appliances. Most modern electrical appliances are made taking into account European requirements, where the voltage 230 V has long been the norm. Permissible vibrations on the network - from 207 to 253 V - not critical for the work of equipment.
Experts advise to set up the voltage relay according to these boundaries, and in the presence of a stable 230 V indicator you can assume that the system works efficiently and without overload.
The introduction of a new standard is not only a technical change, but also an next step towards integration of the Ukrainian power system into a pan -European one. This will better synchronize the work of Ukrainian networks with European partners, increase the reliability of supply and facilitate import and export of energy.
