Ukraine opens the possibility of online marriage registration

Ukrainians got the opportunity to try out an innovative service - online marriage registration through the "Diya" application, as the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced.

According to his statement, it will soon be possible to apply for marriage and register it directly in the Diya application, which will eliminate the need to personally go to the relevant institutions. This service is especially relevant for couples who are at a distance from each other, as well as for military personnel. The system will provide a choice of free dates for the ceremony via video link, but not earlier than five days before the scheduled date.

The marriage certificate will be automatically available in the "Diya" application, and the physical document can be obtained by delivery through Ukrposhta.

Currently, those interested can join the beta test of this service. To do this, you must be of legal age, have an identification code, be single or officially divorced, and also have an ID card or a biometric international passport registered in the "Diya" application.

"There is no such online marriage service anywhere in the world. Sign up for the beta test, share your feedback and be the first to experience this Ukrainian Las Vegas," writes Mykhailo Fedorov.
