US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that even in the event of a change in US policy towards Ukraine, in particular, in the event of a possible victory of Donald Trump in the presidential elections, Kyiv has sufficient support from the international community to survive.
In his speech at the Aspen Security Forum, Blinken for the first time clearly commented on the possible consequences of the change of administration for Ukrainian support. He emphasized that any new American administration, regardless of political shifts, will be forced to take into account the significant bipartisan support of Ukraine in the US Congress.
"Each administration has the right to form its own policy, but it is important to remember the security agreements signed with Ukraine. In addition to the USA, more than 20 countries and the European Union also support Ukraine," said Blinken.
He emphasized that even if the US policy changes, there are many countries that will continue to support Ukraine.
"If we step back, that's possible, but fortunately there are more than 20 other countries that are doing the same," the state secretary added.
Blinken also noted that Ukraine continues the path that ensures its stability in the military, economic and democratic spheres, regardless of changes in international politics.
