Since the beginning of 2024, Ukrainian exports of goods in monetary terms have exceeded the figures for the entire previous year. This was stated by First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko during a briefing on November 17.
"As of November 17, Ukraine exported goods worth 36.3 billion US dollars. This already exceeds the result of 2023, when the figure was 36.2 billion dollars," said Svyridenko.
Reasons for export growth
According to the minister, such impressive results were achieved thanks to:
- Accelerating the export of new harvest products : Ukrainian farmers quickly adapted to the new conditions, which made it possible to increase the volume of shipments.
- Stable operation of the "Ukrainian Maritime Corridor" : The restoration of sea supplies significantly accelerated the export of grain and other goods.
- Restoration of national production : After significant losses in 2022-2023, many enterprises resumed their work, which had a positive effect on export volumes.
The main goods that ensured the growth of exports
The largest contribution to the achievement of the record was provided by the following product groups:
- Sunflower, safflower or cottonseed oil — exports worth $4.4 billion (5.3 million tons).
- Corn — for 4.2 billion dollars (25.5 million tons).
- Wheat and mixtures of wheat and rye — for $3.4 billion (19 million tons).
- Iron ores and concentrates — for $2.5 billion (29.7 million tons).
These indicators demonstrate the gradual recovery of the Ukrainian economy even in the conditions of the ongoing war. Thanks to effective government measures, Ukrainian enterprises managed to adapt to new challenges and increase export volumes.
"These are not just numbers, but evidence of the stability and powerful potential of our economy," Yuliya Svyridenko emphasized.
