Ukraine carried out the first exchange of prisoners in 2025: 25 compatriots are returning home

Ukraine carried out the first exchange of prisoners in 2025, as a result of which 25 Ukrainian military personnel and civilians are returning to the Motherland. Among those released are defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal, as well as fighters who took part in hostilities in Kharkiv Oblast, Donetsk Oblast, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson Oblast. This is an important step in the ongoing process of exchanging prisoners, which takes on special importance in wartime conditions.

"Today, another 25 of our compatriots are returning to Ukraine. These are our military and civilian personnel. Among them are defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal, as well as our Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions. These guys have serious injuries and illnesses. Each of them will receive all the necessary medical assistance," the president noted.
