In Ukraine, a wave of lawsuits continues, in the center of which are natural gas consumers. People are sent for tens, and sometimes hundreds of thousands of hryvnias. In most cases, such donations are related to damage to seals, "suspicious" meters or even accusations of unauthorized connection to the gas pipeline. For many Ukrainians, this has become a real shock.
One of the most resonant cases concerned a resident of Poltava region, which was charged 404 thousand hryvnias of a fine for an allegedly illegal pipe. The man explained that the gas on the pipe did not pass, but the court decided otherwise. Another case happened in Kharkiv, where the consumer was obliged to pay 18 thousand hryvnias due to the damaged seal, even despite the lack of evidence of the interference with the meter. Such stories scare people and raise numerous questions about justice.
Gas supply companies often refer to technical defects in meters, even if they have not affected the indicators. For example, a crack on glass or residues of glue from a seal can be a basis for donations for maximum possible gas consumption. This means that a person is exposed to a person as if they used gas around the clock for several months or even years.
However, jurisprudence shows that consumers have a chance to defend their rights. If the acts of inspections are made with violations and the examination is conducted without the procedure, the decisions of the gas pipeline may be canceled. In some cases, the courts recognize the precision due to the lack of specific evidence of violations. This gives hope to those who disagree to pay unjustified amounts.
In order to avoid such situations, lawyers advise consumers to carefully monitor the work of gas suppliers, require clear registration of documents during inspections and not delay with the appeal to court, if there are dubious donations. In the fight for justice, it is important to know your rights, because only in this way you can protect yourself from "space" payments.
