In the Transcarpathian region, police detained a 23-year-old local resident, suspected of recruiting and crossing Ukrainian women abroad for sexual exploitation. The woman was taken during an attempt to export two Ukrainian citizens recruited to the Czech Republic.
According to police, the suspect sought women from different regions of Ukraine, in particular from Poltava and Chernihiv regions, and offered them allegedly high -paying work abroad. The victims promised decent living, food and earnings of about $ 25,000 in a few months.
In fact, the malefactor placed photos of women on foreign sites of escort services and organized their trip to the Czech Republic for further sexual exploitation. According to operational data, after staying in the EU, Ukrainian women were transported to the countries of the Middle East and Southeast Asia, in particular to Qatar and Indonesia.
At least four confirmed cases of export of women under this scheme have been established. The suspect was chosen in the form of detention with an alternative to making a bail of 300 thousand hryvnias.
Its actions are qualified by Articles 1 and 2 of Article 149 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - trafficking in human beings. In the case of guilt, the woman threatens up to 12 years in prison.
