Against the background of stabilization of the economic situation, Ukrainian banks have begun to revise the conditions of consumer lending, in particular to increase credit limits by cards. This was reported by the head of the Credit Product Department of UNEX Bank Alexander Alimov, noting that decisions are made individually - depending on the payment discipline of clients.
"We are constantly monitoring how customers use available limits, and we regularly view them in a bigger way for those who show reliable payment behavior," Alimov explained.
Several large banks have already recorded a significant increase in limits:
-
In Raiffeisen the bank the maximum limit reached 500 thousand UAH;
-
In PUMB - up to 300 thousand UAH;
-
In UNEX Bank - from 100 to 200 thousand UAH during the year.
The National Bank of Ukraine also captures the positive dynamics in the consumer lending market. As of May 2025, the debt of individuals is about UAH 159 billion, which is just over 2% of GDP. This level, according to the regulator, is considered controlled and safe for the economy.
The banking sector believes that the market has the potential for further growth. This is influenced by the stabilization of macroeconomics, reducing inflation expectations and increasing demand for financial services among the population. However, banks emphasize that the client's reliability remains a key criterion.
