In recent days, information has appeared that some Ukrainians who are in Poland have started receiving summonses demanding their return to Ukraine for military service. However, these documents turned out to be fake.
This is reported by the Office of Foreigners of Poland.
It is noted that Ukrainians receive fake letters on behalf of the Warsaw Office for Foreigners.
The messages urge Ukrainian citizens to undergo military service, warning of legal liability for evasion, including arrest and extradition.
"In accordance with the current legislation, in particular, the law on military service and in connection with the ongoing mobilization, we inform you that on December 17-31, 2024, we are planning a visit to your place of residence, which is located at the address... The purpose of the visit is to take you to the mobilization point" , says the letter dated December 12, 2024.
The letters also recommend contacting the relevant legal or consular institutions of Ukraine in Poland in case of doubt. At the same time, the Department for Foreigners noted that they are not the authors of such messages.
It will be recalled that Witold Tumanovych, a member of the Polish Diet from the "Confederation" party, proposed to ban Ukrainian military personnel from entering Poland after the end of the war. He believes that this is necessary to prevent a potential threat from ex-soldiers.
