Ukrainian prices jumped by 44.2% because of the war

According to the State Statistics Service, since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the prices of basic goods and services have increased by 44.2%.

The highest price increase was electricity, which went up by almost 178%. Food products also became more expensive - their cost increased by 50.8%. In addition, tobacco products became more expensive by 62.5%, and medicines by 45.4%.

Experts explain such a sharp rise in prices by several factors, the main ones being the failure of the harvest caused by the war and the serious destruction of the Ukrainian energy system. These factors caused a significant increase in the price of goods and services, which was directly reflected in the standard of living of Ukrainians.
