In Ukraine, almost every power structure or law enforcement agency has the authority to detain citizens. This was stated by the spokesman of the Poltava regional TCC and SP Roman Istomin in an interview with "Suspilno". According to him, in the framework of mobilization and military registration, the detention of citizens is carried out in accordance with the legislation.
"The TCC informs the police about the need to bring a citizen to draw up a report on an administrative offense and further actions with him. The police, within the limits of their powers, searches for, detains and delivers such a person," said Istomin, refuting information about cases when people are detained without checking documents. The spokesman emphasized that all actions of law enforcement officers are carried out within the framework of the law.
Istomin also explained the possible scenarios of detention. In particular, this can happen at a checkpoint, when during the check it turns out that a person is wanted due to an application by the TCC. In this case, the citizen is detained and taken to the institution. Another option is when the police know a person's place of residence in advance and make an arrest without checking documents, since the data is already at the disposal of the law enforcement officers.
In addition, Istomin emphasized that another 160,000 people may soon be mobilized in Ukraine. This is part of the general plan for equipping military units to 85% of personnel. In this regard, some enterprises, which were previously considered critical, may lose this status, and their employees, who were reserved, risk being mobilized.
Mobilization in Ukraine remains an important part of the country's strategic defense, and there is currently a significant shortage of quality personnel, as noted by the crew commander of the Kara Nebesna UAV Andrii Otchenash. Therefore, achieving these goals is necessary to ensure Ukraine's defense capability.
