The Security Service of Ukraine has declared new facts of use of minors in attempts to carry out terrorist attacks and sabotage in the country. According to the SBU, Russian intelligence services are actively trying to involve teenagers through anonymous communication channels, including Telegram and social networks.
One of the last cases occurred in Rivne. The explosion, which was heard on March 20, near the Arena shopping center, was the result of a failed explosive device in a taxi cabin. The performer, a resident of Rivne, was recruited online, produced explosives on its own and attracted three more people, including two 16-year-old girls and a resident of Kharkiv region. All of them are suspected.
Another case was recorded in Ivano-Frankivsk. According to the SBU, a local 15-year-old schoolgirl received a proposal from a probable FSB agent to collect explosives disguised as a thermos and install it in the city park. The girl turned to Ukrainian law enforcement officers, which allowed to document the attempt to recruit.
In March in the Ternopil region, the SBU announced the detention of a 14-year-old girl, which was tried to make explosives near the police department. The department stated that her phone was broken, and the attackers were threatened with the publication of personal materials.
Separately, law enforcement officers reported the activities of a group of adolescents aged 12 to 16 years of age, who, according to the investigation, were recruited for railway railway and northern regions. Children were first involved in drawing provocative inscriptions, and later in more complex and dangerous actions. The participants of this group include six residents of Smila Cherkasy region and a 16-year-old Lyceum student from Chernihiv.
According to representatives of the SBU, every fifth person who is trying to use Russian special services for sabotage in Ukraine is a minor. The department calls parents to be attentive to their children's online activity, and teenagers-in the event of receiving reports-contact law enforcement officers immediately.
