From now on, drivers carrying out passenger transportation in Poland using the Uber or Bolt applications must have a valid Polish driver's license.
According to the spokesman of the Traffic Bureau of the Chief Police Command, Robert Opas, the change in the rules is designed to improve safety and prevent drivers without Polish licenses from making money by transporting people.
"Driver's licenses issued in Poland are in our database. Therefore, the police can easily find out whether the driver has a license," said the spokesman of the Polish agency.
The managing director of the Free Now service in Poland, Krzysztof Urban, assured that most foreigners should not take additional exams in Poland.
"The majority of taxi drivers working in Poland are from three countries: Ukraine, Belarus and Georgia. These countries receive Polish driver's licenses based on their replacement after confirmation," he explained.
