Ukrainian athlete Roman Kokoshko received a 22-month disqualification for failure to comply with anti-doping requirements. The corresponding decision was released by an independent organization of Attegrity Unit (AIU), which controls compliance with doping rules in world athletics.
The basis for such punishment was three missing extra-mint doping controls in 2024. According to the AIU rules, this is equated with a violation of anti -doping rules.
Kokoshka was temporarily eliminated on December 20, 2024, and it was from this date that the disqualification period began. Thus, the athlete has been going on almost five months from the total term.
In addition to disqualification, AIU canceled all the results of Kokoshka, shown after October 29, 2024. In particular, the last competition of the athlete was performances at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
Roman Kokoshko has the right to challenge this decision in the Sports Arbitration Court (CAS).
Who is Kokoshko's novel
28-year-old Roman Kokoshko is one of the leading pushers of the nucleus of Ukraine. He is a bronze medalist of the European Championships 2023 in the premises, the winner of the European Cup of the same year, the champion of Ukraine-2019 and the multiple medalist of national competitions.
In March 2023, Kokoshko set a national record of Ukraine in the premises - 21.84 m, which remains the best result in the history of the country in this discipline.
In the competitions, the novel represents the Odessa region.
This is the second high-profile case of disqualification of the Ukrainian athlete lately-Marina Beh-Romanchuk has also been temporarily suspended.
