Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Khyzhnyak continues to walk confidently towards the gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. In the category up to 80 kg, he won a convincing victory in the semi-final match and secured a place in the final, where he will compete for the title of Olympic champion.

Khyzhnyak, who is the current silver medalist in the weight category up to 75 kg, started in Paris with two victories. He defeated the Hungarian Pylyp Akimov and the Brazilian Wanderlei Pereira with a score of 5:0, guaranteeing himself at least a bronze medal in the Olympic tournament.
In the semi-finals, Khizhnyak met in the ring with Cuban Arlen Lopez, the current owner of the "gold" in light heavyweight, and won (3:2).
In the final on August 7, Khizhnyak will fight for the gold with the representative of Kazakhstan, Nurbek Oralbai.
