President Zelenskyi's office does not release opposition deputies abroad. People's deputy from "Holos" Yaroslav Zheleznyak stated this in an interview with The Page.
"How do you assess the work of Ukrainian parliamentarians in the USA?"
Zheleznyak replied that the choice of deputies was a bit strange, but the problem is also that due to some stupid position of the OP, we are not allowing deputies to the United States.
"Recently, the American embassy in Ukraine asked deputies to join, including me, to go to Washington, talk to Republicans, explain the budget in numbers, why it is important, plus work in the regions where, accordingly, the voters of these Republicans are and where it is important to have this communication connection As far as I know, tickets have already been bought for some people, but no one has been released. The second example. As I said, I lead an important direction - this is interaction with the IMF and the World Bank. I have a personal invitation to go to the Spring Meeting from the IMF in Washington in mid-April, form a delegation there and make speeches. In addition, everyone asked to meet with various Think Tanks. This trip is now blocked because the majority of people who were in the delegation's letter did not vote for the Tatar version of (the bill on) the Bureau of Economic Security."
"So no deputy can leave the country now without the permission of the President's Office?"
"So! I claim that every business trip, after you have signed everything, then goes to the President's Office for approval. As far as I know, they agree there at a very high level. Now the story has taken a rather unpleasant turn. As I mentioned, the last two weeks the OP decided to tie the vote or no vote to whether or not you would be allowed to travel. Voting is pure political influence. This is documented. This is illegal. In my opinion, this is also a violation of the law, in particular criminal legislation. We collected these examples and handed them over to our international colleagues. Something seems to me that soon we will take this toy from the careless hands of the President's Office. I have already given this letter to the right place. I think that soon, nicely, politely, in English, maybe a little in French, people from the President's office will explain how it works."
