The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) made a significant achievement in preventing possible threats to national security by detaining the head of the branch of the border detachment on the border with Belarus. The man is suspected of passing intelligence to the Russian Federation.

According to the version of the investigation, the suspect, on the instructions of FSB officers of Russia, established the locations of fortified areas and the approximate number of Ukrainian troops defending the border of Ukraine with Belarus. He also tried to transmit the coordinates of warehouses with weapons and ammunition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the territory of the region.
It is stated that the Ukrainian border guard was remotely recruited by the FSB employee Oleksiy Dobrytskyi, who works for the "LPR".
The suspect is currently in custody - he faces life imprisonment.
