The situation remains tense in the region temporarily controlled by the occupiers on the left bank of the Kherson region. The Russian army continues to actively try to dislodge Ukrainian military from their positions on the territory.
This was announced by Natalia Gumenyuk, head of the joint coordination press center of the Defense and Security Forces of the South, during the marathon "Public. Resistance".
“We continue our combat activities, and marking the territory with the Ukrainian flag near Krynyki is a signal to the occupiers, demonstrating that our troops are not leaving this direction. Our units remain in the region, and we do not plan to retreat,” she noted.
According to her, the Russian military is trying to intensively attack Ukrainian positions using drones and artillery. They are also strengthening their position in those areas where they can no longer reach the right bank, but can still carry out attacks on the left bank.
“Russian troops avoid using armored vehicles during assaults, they attack with infantry. Over the past few days, we have observed a decline in their activity, but we will not allow them to return to the territory from which they were expelled,” added Gumenyuk.
She also noted that Russian troops are trying to destroy infrastructure and weaken Ukrainian forces on the left bank, using aerial bombardment and other measures.
