A Ukrainian military aircraft struck Russia for the first time

On June 9, 2024, a Ukrainian military aircraft struck a target on the territory of Russia for the first time. This event is of great strategic and symbolic importance as it marks a new stage in the military conflict between the two countries.

This was reported by sources among the Ukrainian military, with reference to Sky News.

It is noted that a "Russian command node" in the Belgorod area was hit.

"While the damage assessment is still ongoing, it has been confirmed that it was a direct hit. This is the first air-delivered munition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which hit a target in Russia," the message reads.

It is currently unknown what type of ammunition was used in the attack.

On June 8, 2024, a Su-57 multi-purpose fighter of the aggressor state was hit on the territory of the Akhtubinsk airfield in the Astrakhan region of Russia.
