Ukrainian passport services abroad are increasingly refusing to issue passports to citizens of Ukraine over the age of 18 who are not on military registration. This is reported by "Sudovo-yuridychna Gazeta" , referring to the number of complaints from citizens.
This also applies to boys who left before the invasion of the Russian Federation, who at that time were not supposed to be registered with the TCC due to their age.
This situation was discussed at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on youth and sports with Deputy Minister of Defense Kateryna Chornogorenko.
It was planned that boys from the age of 17 will be able to register online, and from the age of 16, the data will be entered into "Oberig" automatically when issuing a passport. But so far it doesn't work like that.
The committee was informed that the passport services officially explain the refusal by the lack of "technical possibility" to transfer information about the person to "Oberig". According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the documents of only 9 people who do not have an entry in "Oberez" were accepted for registration.
Deputies say that this encourages boys to obtain temporary documents from foreign countries.
Chornogorenko said that the Ministry of Defense "expects from the General Staff what to do with Ukrainians who have gone abroad and have violations of accounting rules."
