The Ukrainian government has announced a new step to help internally displaced persons (IDPs), allocating UAH 15 billion to compensate for housing damaged or destroyed by Russian aggression. This is part of a recovery program that will allow more than 10,000 families to receive new housing through the eRecovery program.
The first UAH 4.3 billion for further payment of housing certificates has already been received into the accounts of the Ministry of Development and the Ministry of Social Policy, which jointly created a funding program, in particular for IDPs. This will allow families affected by the war to find a new place to live more quickly and begin to rebuild their lives.
As Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted, this amount is only the first stage of a large-scale support program. The government continues to work on other recovery initiatives to ensure that every affected person receives the necessary assistance.
In general, the government plans to cover the costs of compensating for damaged homes and ensuring IDP families have access to housing, which is also an important condition for the country's stable recovery after the war.
