At night, the Russian occupiers massively attacked the country, targeting critical infrastructure facilities. As a result of these attacks, critical infrastructure facilities in the Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk and Lviv regions were affected, which led to a large-scale blackout of electricity and heat for the local population.
On March 24, the Russian invaders launched 29 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles from 14 Tu-95MS strategic aircraft and 28 Shahed-type attack UAVs over Ukraine. This was reported by the command of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, 43 aerial targets were destroyed: 18 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and 25 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs in the Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kyiv, Volyn and Lviv regions.
Kyiv and the region
Kyiv was hit by a Russian missile attack for the second time in the last four days. According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, on the night of March 24, the Russian military fired three types of missiles at the Ukrainian capital: X-101/X-555/X-55. They were launched by Tu-95MS strategic bombers from the Engels area (Saratov Region, RF). Rockets entered Kyiv in groups from the northern direction.
As of the morning of March 24, the Ukrainian military shot down about a dozen missiles fired by the Russian Armed Forces. In the Desnyan district of the capital, debris fell on the territory of forest plantations. In the Shevchenkiv district, falling debris was recorded on the territory of the park zone and on the territory of residential buildings. There were no casualties or injuries.
In the Kyiv region, in one of the settlements, fragments of rockets fell on the territory of a car wash and damaged a power line that runs nearby. Because of this, more than 400 houses remained without electricity. Elsewhere, the debris fell in an open area outside the population centers. There were no hits to residential and critical infrastructure objects. There were no casualties from the rocket attack.
Lviv region
The head of the Lviv OVA, Maksym Kozytskyi, said that at night enemy "shahedy" and rockets attacked a critical infrastructure object in the Lviv region in the city of Stryi. A fire broke out. Firefighters are currently working at the scene of the incident. There was no information about the victims.
Dnipropetrovsk region
According to the head of Dnipropetrovsk OVA Serhiy Lysak, Russian troops attacked the region with attack UAVs at night. Due to falling debris, heat networks and power lines were damaged in Kryvyi Rih. Due to a voltage drop, several boiler plants in the city were disconnected. 6 hospitals and more than 150 educational institutions remained without heat. And another 3,000 houses, where a total of 76,000 people live. There were power outages in one of the medical facilities. It was restored.
And in the Nikopol area, the Russian Armed Forces hit critical infrastructure: debris from a downed drone damaged an energy facility. More than 3,000 subscribers in Nikopol and more than 6,400 in the district remained without electricity.
Odesa region
On March 24, the Southern Defense Forces reported that "martyrs" had damaged port infrastructure on the Danube in the Odesa region at night.
