The capital is once again trying to sell one of Kyiv's most famous long-term construction projects - the Sky Towers multifunctional complex. The state-owned Ukreximbank has put the object up for auction in the OpenMarket electronic trading system. The auction is scheduled for February 27, and the starting price has been reduced almost ten times compared to previous sales attempts.
This was reported by the press service of the state enterprise "SETAM".
The initial price of the lot is 662.33 million hryvnias. For comparison, back in 2023, the complex was tried to be sold with a starting price of 7.1 billion hryvnias. Later, the price was repeatedly reduced, but a buyer could not be found.
The facility is located on a 0.74-hectare land plot at the intersection of Sholudenka Street, Beresteyskoho Avenue, and Borshchahivska Street. According to the Sky Towers project, it was to consist of two office towers: a 47-story and a 34-story tower connected by a stylobate, as well as a separate two-story bank building. The total designed area of the complex exceeds 51 thousand square meters.
In fact, construction has only been completed to approximately 27 floors. The level of readiness of the facility is estimated at 51%. Work was stopped back in 2015, after which the project became one of the most famous long-term construction projects in Kyiv.
Construction of Sky Towers began in 2007 by KDD Group. During the 2008 financial crisis, the developer took out a loan from Ukreximbank for the equivalent of UAH 3 billion. Due to financial difficulties, the company was unable to meet its obligations, and in 2021 the bank won a court case to collect the debt.
In the same year, the financial institution put up for sale the rights to claim the loan along with the collateral in the form of an unfinished complex. Since then, the asset has been repeatedly tried to be sold, but to no avail. The current auction will be another attempt to find an investor for the problematic object.
