Ukrnafta PJSC has started drilling a new exploratory well in western Ukraine, company director Serhiy Koretskyi said in his Facebook update on Friday.
According to the report, the design depth of the well is 2,754 meters, and it is intended to reveal productive layers of menilitic sediments.
Drilling is carried out by the own forces of the structural unit "Ukrnafta Burinnia". It is predicted that the initial flow rate of the new well will be 16 tons per day.
In addition, the company is preparing to build two oil wells in the east of the country, which are planned to be combined to achieve a total throughput of more than 100 tons of oil per day, with project depths of about 4.5 kilometers.
In 2023, Ukrnafta increased production of oil with condensate by 3% to 1 million 409.9 thousand tons, and gas production by 5.8% to 1 billion 97.4 million cubic meters.
The company has a strategic plan to double oil and natural gas production to 3 million tons and 2 billion cubic meters, respectively, by 2027.
"Ukrnafta" is the largest oil producing company of Ukraine and owns a network of gas stations, which is managed through the assets of Glusco. Currently, the company manages 545 gas stations, including 460 of its own and 85 under management.
A comprehensive program of reviving activities and modernizing the format of gas stations is also one of Ukrnafta's priorities.
