"Ukrnafta" demands the return of funds donated to "Okhmatdyt"

After a series of corruption scandals that erupted around the "Okhmatdyt" children's hospital, the large Ukrainian company "Ukrnafta" announced its intention to return the donated funds in the amount of 5 million hryvnias. This happened against the background of problems with contractors, embezzlement of funds and the suspension of the director of the hospital Oleksandr Zhovnir.

The huge amount of money donated for the construction of the new hospital building is now in question due to numerous corruption scandals. "Okhmatdit" found itself at the center of scandals, which include suspicions of embezzlement and misuse of contributions. So far, the hospital's management has not provided clear information about the intended use of the donated money, and documents confirming its effective use have not been presented.

Ukrnafta expressed concern that the money, which was transferred to an important project to improve medical infrastructure, could have been misused or embezzled. The company requests a refund of its funds until documentary evidence of the correct use of all contributions is provided.

This situation creates serious problems for the management of "Okhmatdyt", which is now dealing with the issue of trust and transparency in financial affairs. In this regard, there is concern that the funds may have been diverted, given the extent of the corruption problems the organization is facing.

It remains to be seen how the hospital will handle this situation and whether it will be able to regain trust among donors and the public. The situation needs urgent consideration in order to prevent further financial losses and to ensure the efficient use of charitable contributions.
