Ukrzaliznytsia announced the launch of a new international train route from Kyiv to Bratislava (Slovakia) via Chop, which will start on December 15. The new flight will be part of the expansion of railway connections between Ukraine and Slovakia, and will also open up new opportunities for travel to other large cities in the Czech Republic.
Train #27/28 will depart from Kyiv every evening at 19:57, arriving in Chop at 07:50 in the morning. Here, passengers will be able to transfer to train #617/961, which departs at 09:59 and arrives in Bratislava at 19:33.
The return route from Bratislava will start at 11:27. After changing in Chopa to train #28/27 at 22:38, arrival in Kyiv will take place at 10:01 in the morning.
Ticket price
The total cost of tickets for the entire route Kyiv - Bratislava via Chop is about UAH 2,200. The price of a ticket for the Kyiv - Chop train will be approximately UAH 700, and for the Chop - Bratislava train - about UAH 1,500.
"Transfers between trains are well coordinated. Passengers will be able to buy both tickets with one click through the mobile application or on the official website of Ukrzaliznytsia," the carrier noted.
The new route connects Kyiv, Lviv and Mukachevo with Bratislava and other large cities in Slovakia, such as Košice, Žilina, Trnava, Trenčín and Poprad. It also opens up ample opportunities for travel to most cities in the Czech Republic, including Prague.
