Rustem Umerov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine, has published his electronic declaration for 2024. The data shows a significant increase in his salary and the presence of financial assets in the United States, where his family lives.
The salary of the head of the Ministry of Defense has more than tripled over the year. If in 2023 he received 442,347 hryvnias, then in 2024 this amount amounted to 1,623,299 hryvnias. Umerov also declared income of 3.3 million hryvnias from the alienation of securities and corporate rights.
His wife, Leyla Umerova, lives in the United States with her children. Her income in 2024 was 1,841,308 hryvnias. The couple has accounts in an American bank and the right to use an apartment in the United States.
In Ukraine, Umerov rents an apartment in Kyiv and also uses another one as an internally displaced person.
It was previously reported that the minister's wife received a driver's license in Miami in 2016, and their children are undergoing speech therapy training at a local center.
