The commander of a special unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) unit with the call sign “Magyar” made a bold prediction, stating that in the next 6-8 months, strike drones will become fully autonomous and no longer require human control. This could significantly change the landscape of military technology and strategy.
AI systems will determine the target for the strike themselves, but the question is how to distinguish a Ukrainian from a Russian soldier.
"Hundreds of artificial intelligence systems are being developed and are now being tested in test modes. In six months, pilots will not be needed. People will be needed who will simply raise a drone a meter above the ground. And then the drone itself will determine, depending on its development, what to hit, how to separate a Zhiguli from a tank, and it will definitely not separate a Ukrainian from the enemy. These challenges must be taken very seriously and invested in technology," said Madyar.
