The Servant of the People faction predicts that a new law on mobilization will be adopted in March, People's Deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko said. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the relevant project of the law and sent it to the Verkhovna Rada.
The representative of the "European Solidarity" faction noted that the text of the draft law is not yet available, and promised to inform about it as soon as it becomes known.
At the same time, People's Deputy from the "Servant of the People" faction, Serhiy Nagornyak, suggested that the new law on mobilization may not be adopted before March. According to him, the authorities are trying to choose the best solution from the available ones, so that it is accepted by society, because, in his opinion, there are no more ideal options.
Nagornyak also emphasized that the situation at the front at the moment allows existing brigades to hold their positions, but a number of formations are noticeably understaffed. According to him, mobilization is critically necessary to replenish existing brigades.
It should be noted that the government draft law caused criticism from politicians and public activists. Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets expressed his belief that it contradicts the constitutional norms, in particular, in the part of strengthening punishments for evaders. The anti-corruption policy committee also identified corruption risks in the draft law and recommended its finalization. In this connection, the government decided to withdraw the project for revision.
