A new $500 million aid package from the Biden administration to Ukraine was announced at a recent meeting of the Ramstein Contact Group. According to a statement by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, the package will include missiles for air defense systems (ADS), air-to-surface missiles, ammunition, and equipment for F-16s.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told allies at the meeting that while he was grateful for the delivery of air defense systems, Ukraine needed to receive what had been promised earlier. He expressed hope that promises of additional military assistance would be fulfilled.
According to journalists, after the allocation of this $500 million package, a significant portion of unused funds, namely about $3.8 billion, will remain at the disposal of the American administration, in particular, it can be transferred in the event of a change in the political situation, in particular, in the event of a possible return of Donald Trump to power.
