United States Special Representative Keith Kellogg plans to visit Ukraine after participating in the Munich Security Conference, which will take place on February 14-16.
This was stated at a briefing by the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tykhy. “There are working dates. We never announce the dates of visits in advance for security reasons, but we really expect this visit in February,” Tykhy said.
According to him, the Ukrainian delegation will have contacts with Kellogg at the Munich Conference. During his visit to Ukraine, he will be accompanied by a delegation, the composition of which is currently being formed:
"We expect contacts and then this visit. I will not go into specific details and dates. I will simply confirm that the visit is very important. This is an opportunity for us to convey detailed information about the situation on the front, about our vision of the paths to a just and comprehensive peace. And we will definitely take advantage of this chance.".
The Foreign Ministry spokesman also commented on Kellogg's words about the need for concessions from both countries, calling for a focus on concessions from Russia.
"Ukraine did not attack anyone. Ukraine was attacked. And the path to a just peace lies through the cessation of Russian aggression. We must first focus on how to stop this aggression and how to ensure that it does not happen again," Tykhy emphasized.
The ministry spokesman also reiterated that Ukraine needs strong comprehensive security guarantees that will ensure that a Russian attack will not be repeated.
Separately, Tykhyi reported that contact between Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is currently being worked out. “The work is underway. There is a preliminary date for this contact, but I will not get ahead of myself, let's wait and see when it takes place,” he added.
Trump's plan for Ukraine
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that Trump currently has no official plan to end the war in Ukraine.
Kellogg previously announced that he would present the US president's strategy at the Munich Security Conference.
