WBA, WBC, WBO and IBO world heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk appealed to US presidential candidate Donald Trump to help free Ukrainians held captive by Russia.
"Dear Joe Rogan, could you ask Donald Trump when he appears on your podcast: If the president is so confident in his influence over Putin, would he immediately help release the Azovstal defenders and all Ukrainians from the Russian captive? Time is of the essence. Sincerely, Oleksandr," Usyk wrote on the X social network.
The call was part of Usyk's broader campaign to draw attention to the plight of captured Ukrainian soldiers. Usyk also demonstrated his creative approach, appearing at the press conference before the rematch with boxer Tyson Fury in the image of "Hitman".
Usyk repeated the style of the main character of the computer game series of the same name, known as Agent 47. The Ukrainian appeared in a classic black suit, a white shirt with a red tie and leather gloves, and also shaved his head, which became a characteristic feature of the character.
On his page in social networks, Usyk also addressed Fury: "I will not leave you alone. Never," emphasizing his determination and support. These actions indicate that Usyk not only fights in the ring, but also tries to fight for justice and freedom of his compatriots in this difficult time.
