Banks told how to avoid locking bills

On February 1, a memorandum, which limits the amount of payments between individuals-50-150 thousand UAH, came into force in Ukraine. Since then, the number of customers whose accounts have been blocked has increased significantly. Banks, in turn, explain the strengthening of control with the requirements of the National Bank of Ukraine, which insists on more detailed inspection of the postings.

According to bank experts, the lock of accounts automatically happens through work programs, and to solve situations requires manually check. Unfortunately, due to the large amount of customers and the lack of specialists in banks, such inspections take a long time. However, in order to minimize the risk of getting into this "drip", financiers recommend that you follow several rules.

Tips to avoid locking accounts:

  1. Do not increase large money transactions in accounts with small turnover. If your account is used for limited amounts, do not exceed them suddenly, even if the amount is less than the set limit (UAH 50-150 thousand). A sharp increase in turnover may seem anomalous.

  2. Avoid large cash invoices. If cash comes regularly and is immediately distributed to others, it can be perceived as illegal payments or salaries in "envelopes". That is why cash contributions worth more than 10 thousand UAH should be rare and documented.

  3. Gradually increase activity in low -cost accounts. If you have not used the account often, do not make large amounts on it at once. Start with small sums and increase the activity gradually, use the account in home for small purchases or services.

  4. Draw up large amounts of money in the form of gifts properly. If you translate large amounts (from 50-100 thousand UAH), especially relatives, make their donation with a notary. This will avoid issues from the bank.

  5. Avoid frequent small transfers. If you transfer 100-200 UAH several times a day, the bank can perceive it as a sign of illegal business, which can lead to blocking the account.

  6. Provide official income documents. If you receive big official revenues, please report it to your bank, since from July 1, 2025 the maximum limit on payments will be reduced to 100 thousand UAH.

  7. How to act in the absence of official income. If your income is not documented, you do not bring gray funds into accounts. Distribute your funds into several accounts and use cryptocurrencies to avoid blocking.

Despite the fact that banks intend to limit potential financial abuse and reduce the risks of financing illegal transactions, each client must monitor their financial transactions and follow simple tips to avoid blocking accounts. It is clear that clients with unstable or suspicious transactions are most under the impact, so it is important to conduct transparent financial transactions.
