On August 7, 2024, a meeting was held in Gostomel, initiated by local parents who wanted to learn about the situation with the reconstruction of the "Rainbow" kindergarten. More than 30 parents gathered to hear from authorities about plans to reopen this vital preschool.
The meeting was attended by various representatives of the local authorities, who reported that the work on the restoration of the kindergarten is at the stage of adjusting the project and continues. However, unfortunately, the "Rainbow" kindergarten will not welcome children in 2024 either.
This caused concern among parents, because no preschool educational institution in Gostomel has been functioning since the deoccupation of the city. Gostomel was one of the most affected settlements of Kyiv region during the Russian aggression in 2022. Since then, parents have been constantly appealing to the authorities to restore infrastructure, in particular kindergartens.
The meeting of parents became an important event that reflected the inaction of the Gostomel military administration, which led to the stoppage of repair work. The beginning of the new school year is approaching, but the prospects for the restoration of preschool institutions in Gostomel look uncertain.
This situation calls into question the possibility of the normal functioning of the educational infrastructure in the affected region and requires an urgent solution from the responsible authorities.
