In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, law enforcement officers exposed a corruption scheme among officials of the territorial recruitment and social support center (TCC). The deputy head of the regional TCC and two employees of the district TCC were detained, who took bribes for helping conscripts in obtaining an electronic code for identification in the "Oberig" system, as well as for postponing or avoiding military service.
The deputy head of the regional TCC was detained not far from his place of work. For $1,000, it offered seamless access to an electronic code for identification in the system or military records.
According to information from the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police, the head of the regional TCC and one of his employees received $1,000 each for providing similar services. At the same time, the deputy commander of the guard company of the same procurement center received more than 18 thousand hryvnias, which included 2 thousand hryvnias for not being brought to administrative responsibility for violating the rules of military accounting and $400 for an electronic code.
Law enforcement officials have already charged three officials under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official. The deputy head of the regional TCC and the head of the district TCC were ordered to take precautionary measures in the form of detention with the possibility of bail in the amount of 242,000 hryvnias each. The review of the motion against the third suspect is ongoing.
If the defendants are found guilty, they face up to 10 years of imprisonment, a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for a period of up to three years, and confiscation of property.
