In the forests of Ivano-Frankivsk region, intense search work is not stopped for the third day-they are looking for a five-year-old boy who disappeared on June 17 in the forest near the village of Troitsa, in the Kolomyia district.
According to the State Emergency Service, four search groups and 20 unmanned aerial vehicles with thermal units were involved in the operation from 18 to 19 June. As of the morning of June 19, 11 search groups were involved in the search, checking more than 4,000 hectares in 17 zones - both on foot and air.
Hundreds of people have been involved in the search: mountain rescuers, cynologists from Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Lviv and Khmelnytsky regions, a special aviation detachment of the SES of Ukraine, as well as cadets of Lviv State University of Life Safety.
As of the third day of the operation, about 1 798 hectares have already been surveyed, 1,050 of them are thick forests. More than 2,900 hectares have been tested from drones. Diver groups surveyed 11 reservoirs (nearly 7.5 thousand square meters) and the coastal zone of the Prut River on an area of 75 hectares.
The searches are conducted around the clock, with re -checking previously inspected areas. The family of the missing boy is provided with psychological assistance by the SES specialist.
As of now, the baby has not been found. Law enforcement officers do not reject any version of the disappearance.
