In the occupied Crimea, the authorities of the Russian Federation decided to "nationalize" the assets of another 110 citizens of Ukraine, among whom the famous Ukrainian singer Jamala and the former Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk. This news became a reason for indignation and condemnation on the part of the Ukrainian public and the political community.
This was stated by the "head of the Crimean parliament" Volodymyr Konstantinov to the Russian propaganda agency "RIA Novosti".
According to him, the ex-prime minister's assets, which were nationalized, were an educational building, a garage and a large plot of land in Yalta.
The occupiers named Jamala's property in Crimea as movable and immovable property, as well as two plots of land and a residential building in Alushta, which were issued to her relatives.
Kostiantynov added that the assets of Jamala and Yatsenyuk were included in the list of 110 objects subject to nationalization in the occupied Crimea. It is about property on the southern coast of Crimea, in the Leninsky District, Feodosia, Kerch, Yevpatoria, Simferopol and Simferopol District. Among them are the assets of the family of ex-people's deputy of Ukraine Lidia Kotelyak, the company "Yalta Film Studio" and the holding company "Kyivmiskbud".
Earlier, the Russian authorities in Crimea claimed that they had recovered 1.7 billion Russian rubles from the sale of "nationalized" property of Ukrainian citizens in Crimea.
On December 29, 2023, the head of the Russian parliament of Crimea, Volodymyr Konstantinov, announced the "nationalization" of 2,600 objects of movable and immovable property of Ukrainian citizens in Crimea. In particular, this list included the assets of businessman Ihor Kolomoisky, the building of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, and the apartment of the wife of the President of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska.
