On Sunday, January 12, a scandal broke out in the Obolon district of Kyiv due to the refusal to serve a Ukrainian serviceman in the Noice restaurant. According to the establishment's security, the owner of the restaurant gave this instruction.
The soldier who reported the incident said that he went to the restaurant in the evening to drink coffee, but he was stopped at the entrance by security. An employee of the establishment confirmed that the management forbade serving military personnel, even if they are sober and do not violate the rules of conduct.
In the video provided by the soldier, the employee of the restaurant says:
"With all due respect, I was forbidden to serve (a military man. - Ed.)."
Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and found out that the soldier did not break the law. However, according to the victim, this is not the first time that the management of the restaurant has shown contempt for Ukrainian defenders.
According to the serviceman, the co-owner of the restaurant, Turkish citizen Ayhan Ozdemir, uses the premises of the establishment as an office for personal meetings, constantly communicates in Russian and calls the police every time the military enters the establishment.
It also became known that the director of the restaurant, Ruslan, and the manager, Inna, support the decision to ban service to the military.
This incident caused a wave of indignation among Ukrainians. Many social media users called for a boycott of the Noice restaurant and an investigation into the activities of its management.
At the time of publication, the restaurant had not provided an official comment on the situation.
This situation once again raises the question of the attitude of business to the military, which protects Ukraine. The incident at the Noice restaurant became a high-profile example of how individual business owners can neglect moral principles and social responsibility.
