The Ministry of Economy once again tried to explain where the money for "Winter is Support" came from

The Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Nadiya Bigun, reported that the funds for the "Winter is Support" program were allocated at the expense of savings on other programs of the ministry. This statement, made on the air of the national telethon, adds clarity to the financial mechanisms of supporting the population in the conditions of a difficult economic situation.

Nadiya Bihun noted that the financing of the program became possible thanks to the redistribution of funds:

"Funds for Winter Support is a program of the Ministry of Economy at the expense of savings on other programs. Funds were redistributed and directed to ensure support."

Different versions of financing

From the very beginning of the "Winter is Support" announcement, various information regarding its financing appeared:

  • At first it was reported that the funds were allocated by Western partners of Ukraine.
  • Later, the head of the budget committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Roksolana Pidlas, said that the financing will be done at the expense of unused funds from the Unemployment Fund.

What is known about "Winter isSupport"?

The program was created to provide assistance to citizens of Ukraine during the winter period. Its purpose is to support the population in conditions of high costs for energy resources and other vital needs.
