The Security Service of Ukraine detained an FSB agent who organized an "observation post" in the attic of a high-rise building in Mykolaiv to correct enemy strikes on the regional center. As the SBU reports on its Telegram channel, the traitor, who turned out to be a former teacher at a local university, was recruited because of his anti-Ukrainian activities on social networks.
According to the investigation, the man was working for Russia, trying to pass on important information to facilitate strikes on the positions of Ukrainian forces. For this, he installed a hidden video camera in the attic of the apartment building where he lived. The main purpose of his activity was to identify the combat positions of Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile systems and mobile fire groups, as well as tracking weapons moving to the front line.
During the search, a mobile phone, a video camera and a flash drive with evidence of his treasonous activities were seized from the detainee. According to Ukrainian legislation, he was charged under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason under martial law). The suspect is currently in custody and faces life in prison with forfeiture of property.
The detention was the result of carefully planned measures by the SBU to ensure the security of the positions of Ukrainian troops and preserve the integrity of the defense forces. The detained FSB agent may face new charges for his criminal activities.
